Ahmadinejad 'n' US: An Exhalation
They say Iran, again. Rattle, rattle.
Shi'ite Persian Props code:
Rev. Dr. Ahmadinejad is an obnoxiously hard to defend Executive Branche-Man, so this past week i must admit of a certain knee-jerk urge to give props of some sort to the public face of my beloved (pre'hap betrothed, anon) Shi'ia Persia.
Whatever. I don't know if that's what he said. Rev Stuttery McRamblesome there is perfectly in keeping with a contemporary speaker. This ain't the Gilded Age. Dubya's verbal tragedies are encoded at DARPA and filtered through Cheney before he mangles them into "speaches"; Ahmadinejad has to decode whatever the Khomeniacracy flips him to compliment his sportswear ouvre.
Tomorrow is Grandfalloonerry Day. What are you going to tell yourself to asuage your soul while you sit where They™ want you to, doing Thier™ bidding rather than hitting the streets?
Thought i was gonna bust out the Gary Webb movies again, huh? Pwnt.
A Fair(y) Use Tale code:
Hey, Cowboy Bob! Yeah, you, kid-cakes! Wanna buy a Hat?
It's utility 'round here is over. Finished, done, gone, out. Somebody should claim it 'afor'n ah give it to the freeballing UtiliKilt guy who lives up the hill. He'd wear it, too, and get away with it. W/e. Here's the keeper part.
Kurt said (insomuch as this particular nonanimate Golem speaks; which is to say "C_j flipped a coin") that the American Flag™ that he sat on for 4 (5?) years is up for the Patriot that can step up to claim both Flag and Hat. I think it's a 48-star flag; hard to tell being as it's folded proper. Hey, i was a trained civil servant once.
Ok, maybe not totally proper.
So, yeah. Still trying to sell our worlds over here.
I've multch'd more furniture than we've managed to sell or give away. W/e. Think today's sale is going to be a Moving Moving Sale. Like a movable feast, yeah? Except the other people don't know that we're going to show up at thier door with a bunch of crap to sell (and leave lying around if no-one's buying). I've already got a milkcrate full of random electoronics that Al Qu'aeDaffy would (allegedly) love to get a hol't of and a intercom mic/aux/VO unit loaded on the TrundleRound™. Think i'll pack on one each amp and tapedeck, maybe the conduit crate, and that fucking 10-column candleabra that keeps tripping me. Roll on down to Fremont, after cartoons of course. Leave it all in front of Lenin with a note that says "stoopid baby" under a large Prussian-pointing arrow.
It's going to be a spectacular day, People. Forward along the Shining Path.
As threatened in commentary i left on and inspired by this post by Sri Lo, i present the above playlist of videos relating to CIA traffic of drugs, guns, perhaps slaves, definately money, and inteligence information as a memorial to the reporter who lost his life for investigating it.
Or maybe he commited suicide.
Maybe. Hey, it's OK; look, here's some indy reporting:
Mosaic
code:
Notable holes in Mosaic coverage are, i'm told, the paucity of Turkish, Farsi, and Hebrew sources. So here's some Hebrew.
New York continues as the role model for the Quieter, Gentrier American Century, leading us into a bold new world where only traffic lights and buildings can run cameras. Well, i guess you can still buy a liscense from the City if you have a good reason and a wheelbarrow fulla money. Kinda like the way the FCC doles out liscenses for the use of radio wavelengths; these are liscenses for lightwave capture.
We Are Change gets some last rays caught, recieving a few good elbows to their (_blank_)s as keepsakes.
Bloomberg's Wild Ride code:
Could be worse. Could be investigating drugs-for-arms deals. (You can click through to this one; but yes you may want to proxy-up prior to doing so. I don't know who flagged it, or what could possibly be "mature viewing" in a Dateline clip w/ an Alex Jones outro, but here we are. This is why some people avoid me. Pussies.)
Some US reporters have already run into the new active-denial system of media suppression, like NOLA's own FluxRostrum.
FluxRostrum - TWIF code:
Pretty soon people in the Occupied Territories are going to have a hard time getting images of US citizens being complacent as thier Neue LiberCon overlords repave the highways with oil and skin.
