Mumia MemeNode

The case of Mumia Abu Jamal is a pivotal area of meme activity for this campaign.

Now, i don't know how many of you have followed the case of Mumia Abu Jamal, or even if y'all know who the man is. I have no idea if you know about MOVE, or what to think about John Africa, or what indeed to tell you about the events of Dec 9, 1981. I remember reading very unsatisfying reports when the major events went down, and thinking "hmmmm. WTF?"
After re-researching this week, i have no clearer grasp. It's virtually impossible to get a clear picture on events so obviously mired in bias by all concerned. Mumia's politics, however, are informed by the same monopoly capital model of political economic historiography that i hold oh so dear, thus making us compatriots. Easy for me to say; this white man is safely ensconced in a condo, far from prison walls.
So why do i believe Mumia's story instead of the Philidelphia prosecution's?
Occam's razor.
Look, the confluence of events on Dec 9, 1981 led to a cop pulling Mumia's brother over and forcibly arresting him at a time and place where Mumia was driving (or waiting) in his cab. Niether side attempts to claim this as coincidence; the prosecution maintains that this was a "Black-Panther style ambush" whilst the defence claims it was a police frame-up. The chances of it being coincidence given Philly's size are pretty astronomical, thus it most probably was indeed planned. Why would Mumia and kin face certain imprisonment at the least for the execution of a cop-killing in plain sight? No idea. Why would the cops orchestrate a capital frame-up of a political agitant? Many possible reasons spring to mind, even more if we add in the alleged testimony of a hit-man who has come forward to take the blame for shooting Officer Faulkner because of the later's refusal to take part in a corrupt gambit being run by the cops.
I encourage one and all to seek your own answers. Reading some of the more conservative takes on the whole wormcan helped settle me on the issue; although i was pretty well settled in 1985. Dropping a firebomb on a house isn't policework.
It's murder.

DEMOCRACY

Babylon haffa free up
Mumia Abdul Jamaal.
The system dem a downpress
our prophets and voices of liberation
While we stand aside and abide
Free up, Jah Cure, unno please
listen to the voice of the poor.

Babylon have to free up
H. Rap Brown from the downpression...
How ironic, Mumia and H. Rap
falling in the same trap.
How ironic they are both charged
with the same crime....tragic
They are both journalists and public speakers
able to persaude massive audiences
to the one universal truth which
submerges from a market place of ideas

That's why we call it ideas,
It from I&I days, working for little pay
Only this time I will have my say

Democracy means equal rights and
justice, without hypocracy.
I know Jah will solve this irony,
which have been disturbing world harmony.

AMERICA, the land of the free
God, shines its grace on Thee,
But, can Jah still save a wretch like HE

What about Democracy?
Equal rights and justice without hypocracy,
Please Jah Jah help me
Solve this Tragedy

Misfits- Skulls

**pours libation for Y, who did the best acoustic version of Skulls eva**

In a parallel permutation of this universe, i embraced my lesser side and am at this point in Iraq, running the base set up in the ruins of Babylon with quite a different program than that of it's counterpart in our reality. I wait impatiantly in the blood-stained reception lounge at the top of the rebuilt zigurat of Marduk-Mahakala, the Kali Yantra on my helm darker than the coagulated icor of the humonunculous that waits with me on the altar. The latest reports of civilian death tolls are a matter of exacting concern for me, and the troops under my command have turned on themselves in an autocanibalizing orgy of possesed frenzy, for the time is short and i will have the work done by midnight, for I have Willed it so. The ICBMs sent by NATO and China to stop me fall from the sky in impotent pieces the size of Fritos, thier plutonium cores blazing deadly beautiful spider webs of oxidizing issotopes over the new Summerian sunset. The Sabath of the 14th will be remembered by the shivering citizens of the galaxy until heat death mercifully blinks out the last of the living, aeons hence.
In that world, the discrepency between the body counts is of personal interest. Here, i just think it's bizarrely skewed, as is usually the case in a war. I don't know why epidemiologists are trying to count war dead, but it think they're out of thier depth.
Instead of war, i think plague is the proper pidgeonhellhole for epidemiological endevour or maybe pestillance and also what of Death?

Did i mention the Rulingness that accompanies the return of IOYC to your interwebbings?

Silvia Saint should spend more time working on our relationship and less destroying Navy Intell Offices. Just my opinion.

It's hard to get an accurate picture of civilian dead or anything else when the US and it's allies are around.

"Common Sense."

The following is standard Propaganda, created to promote the Constitutionalist Party.

Common Sense:
Toward a More Perfect Union

Two hundred and ten years ago, our first Chief Executive declined the call to serve a 3rd term. The living embodiment of Enlightenment leadership offered the following caveats about political parties in his farewell speech:

"This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, having its root in the strongest passions of the human mind. It exists under different shapes in all governments, more or less stifled, controlled, or repressed; but, in those of the popular form, it is seen in its greatest rankness, and is truly their worst enemy.
"The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.
"Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight), the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.
"It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.
"There is an opinion that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the government and serve to keep alive the spirit of liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in governments of a monarchical cast, patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume."

The interceding centuries have provided well for Washington's foresight, with the landscape of our nation's political machinations springing forth new parties to reinvigorate the process of government at regular intervals. Now, it falls upon citizens of our great republic to once again reshape the corpus politic with an organic body of renewed vitality, a forumn free from reactionary positionalism borne by decades of contention. It is our duty to our history, our sacred heritage of democratic spirit, to enjoin our peers in the monumental effort to set higher standards of administrative trust.
Whatever your current affiliation, allegience or obligation, it is your personal civic duty to help build this new organ of political power. Your voice will help shape the chorus we are striving to tune. Your dreams will guide our intent. Your concerns will sharpen our resolve.
You don't have to join this new party to make it work for you, but your duty as an American citizen behooves you to help shape its' reality.
Our primary cause is one of universal necessity: the establishment of direct democratic process in the selection of our President by the removal of the electoral system. We stand now at a technological vantage point hitherto unknown to humankind, one that easily facilitates the requirements for true democracy. The brass ring so long sought after, fought for, paid for in blood and toil by untold generations of men and women is finally effectively in our grasp.
Reach out with us and take it. We owe it to our fallen, we owe it to our children.
It is a matter of common sense. Join the Campaign to Elect Citizen j today, and join the dialogue that will shape the future of democracy in America.

Prime Mover

What the cause of democratizing America needs is impetus.

We're complacent, even though we're either scared or hungry or worried about what the scared hungry ones might do. Things are comfortable here in the wide cultural temperate zone of Amerikkka. Even Compton has forgotten about the CIA crack connection/Rodney King thing that was so worth a couple days of looting 10 years ago. Comfy cozy, down to the last Drunk Injun.

In 2003, 300 women took over a Shell Oil pump station to force a dram of profit to be shared amongst the locals from the goldmine oil strike that Big Oil was wastefully milking in the Nigerian delta. It was nothing less than insane in the area at the time. That's what it seems to take to motivate people.

Wonder how the story ended.
